ANA Holdings (ANAHD) has finalized an agreement with Airbus by signing a firm order for 24 single-digit A321neo and three A321XLR aircraft. The order was announced during a signing ceremony at the 2025 Paris Air Show, presided over by Koji Shibata, Representative of the Board of Directors, President and CEO of ANAHD, and Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, EVP Sales of Airbus’ Commercial Aircraft Division.
Airbus aircraft for All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Peach Aviation
The order includes 14 additional A321neos for All Nippon Airways (ANA), as well as 10 A321neos and three A321XLRs for the group’s subsidiary Peach Aviation, to upgrade the group’s current fleet. Peach Aviation will be the first Japanese airline to operate the A321XLR, which has one of the longest ranges among single-engine aircraft. It can fly up to 4,700 nautical miles (8,700 km) nonstop.
“We are pleased to have signed the firm order to introduce additional A321neos and the first A321XLR into our Group companies. We believe this additional introduction of Airbus aircraft will further deepen our relationship,” said Koji Shibata. “We will accelerate the introduction of modern and fuel-efficient aircraft to provide excellent service to our passengers and reduce CO2 emissions.”
“From its first order in 1987 to an order backlog of nearly 100 aircraft, ANA has been a long-standing customer of the A320 Family. The exciting addition of the A321XLR for Peach Aviation further underscores ANA’s innovative spirit and confidence in the unparalleled capabilities of the A320 Family,” said Benoît de Saint-Exupéry. “We are committed to offering ANA and Peach Aviation our full support as their growing fleet operates on more and more routes across their networks.”
ANA operates 33 aircraft of the A320 family, Peach Aviation 36 aircraft of this family
The A321neo is part of the A320neo family, which integrates the latest technologies such as modern engines, Sharklets and cabin efficiency improvements, which together deliver more than 20% fuel savings and CO2 reduction compared to previous generations of single-engine aircraft.
The A321XLR sits alongside the medium-haul aircraft in an airline’s fleet. It offers the flexibility to increase capacity, open new routes, or even operate existing routes when demand fluctuates. It does this while consuming 30% less fuel per seat compared to competing previous-generation aircraft. The A321XLR‘s new Airspace cabin will provide passengers with comfort in all classes on long-haul flights.
To date, more than 7,000 A321neo aircraft have been ordered by over 90 customers worldwide.
