Vietjet orders additional Airbus A330neo wide-body aircraft

Vietjet’s recent decision calls for the order of 20 additional Airbus A330-900 aircraft to accelerate its global expansion. The agreement, signed by Vietjet Chairman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, underscores the airline’s commitment to expanding its international reach and fostering sustainable growth.

Strategic expansion of the Vietjet fleet

Vietjet, Vietnam‘s largest private airline, is utilizing the Airbus A330-900 to support the company’s international expansion over the next decade. The new aircraft will enable the airline to increase frequencies on busy routes in the Asia-Pacific region and launch new long-haul connections to Europe.

Significant contract signing

The contract signing took place in Hanoi in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong. This further deepens the strategic partnership between Vietjet and Airbus. The new order doubles Vietjet’s firm orders for the A330neo to 40 aircraft.

Further training and technological upgrades

Vietjet continues to utilize the modern technologies of its Airbus fleet. The A330-900 aircraft are equipped with the latest Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines and offer high fuel efficiency. The A330neo’s Airspace cabin provides passengers with a high level of comfort with improved overhead compartments, a new lighting system, and state-of-the-art entertainment systems.
