“In addition to the excitement of delivering new Diamond aircraft to our customers, we now also have pre-loaded Jeppesen data on board, which offers further added value,” says Christian Dries, CEO of Diamond Aircraft Austria. “Jeppesen NavData and charts provide the foundation that enables pilots to reach their destinations safely, and we are pleased to be able to offer this data service together.”

Starting in 2017, Jeppesen flight information will be included on board with the purchase of a DA40, DA42, or DA62 from Diamond Aircraft Austria, ready for immediate use in flight. In addition to navigation data from Jeppesen – a Boeing company – aircraft equipped with Garmin G1000 avionics will be outfitted with a PilotPak data package, which includes supplementary data such as obstacle, terrain, and SafeTaxi data, as well as airport diagrams. Upon request, existing DA40, DA42, and DA62 customers can have their aircraft retrofitted.

“The partnership with Diamond Aircraft combines industry-leading aircraft design and manufacturing with data services to create a turnkey solution available at the time of delivery,” says Reggie Arsenault, Director of Jeppesen General Aviation Client Management. “This onboard service simplifies the flight process, and the pilot no longer needs to concern themselves separately with purchasing data.”

Jeppesen NavData was developed from its comprehensive aviation database, which comprises more than one million records. To ensure accuracy, Jeppesen flight information analysts edit and verify approximately 150,000 database transactions—generated from worldwide aviation data sources – on a 28-day update cycle.
