AEGEAN strengthens fleet with eight Airbus A321neo

AEGEAN, Greece’s largest airline, has placed an additional order with Airbus for eight A321neo aircraft. This fleet expansion supports AEGEAN’s growth strategy and strengthens its competitive position in the European market. AEGEAN’s total order with Airbus now includes 60 A320neo Family aircraft.

AEGEAN announces the expansion of its fleet with the order of eight additional Airbus A321neo aircraft. This decision supports the airline’s expansion plans and contributes to strengthening its networks. AEGEAN CEO Dimitris Gerogiannis emphasizes that this expansion is crucial to achieving the airline’s growth targets and increasing its competitiveness.

Preferred model A321neo

The choice of the A321neo, known for its increased capacity and extended range, reflects AEGEAN‘s preference, as this aircraft type will comprise two-thirds of its Airbus fleet in the future. With the A321neo, AEGEAN will benefit from the advantages of the new generation of engines and Sharklets, resulting in more than 20% fuel savings and CO2 reduction compared to previous models.

The A321neo is the largest member of Airbus’ best-selling A320neo family, offering both impressive range and performance. These models are already capable of operating on up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), with Airbus planning to achieve 100% SAF capability by 2030. To date, more than 6,800 A321neos have been ordered by over 85 customers worldwide.
