At the authorized Bombardier Service Center in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich, RUAG is combining the scheduled 96-month inspection of a CL300 with landing gear servicing and an avionics upgrade.
During the 96-month heavy maintenance inspection on a Bombardier Challenger CL300, RUAG simultaneously carried out repairs to the landing gear. Additionally, compliance with the standards for the ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast) airspace surveillance system—effective from 2020—was ensured ahead of schedule.
The aim of this standard is to ensure that commercial aircraft worldwide can be located via satellite and can no longer go missing—as happened, for instance, with the lost Boeing 777 of Flight MH73. To this end, specialists in Oberpfaffenhofen implemented the OEM-compliant Service Bulletin (SB) for the avionics upgrade, ensuring that the CL300’s flight systems meet the new ADS-B regulations. In addition, the business jet received a fresh coat of paint.
