On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of nonstop flights between Germany and the USA, United Airlines announced that it has carried over 50 million passengers and more than 1.8 million tons of air cargo since 1990. United offers more flights and seats from Germany than other US airlines.

Since May 16, 1990, United Airlines has been flying Boeing 767-200 aircraft from Frankfurt to Chicago and Washington, D.C., marking the beginning of a transatlantic success story. Over the past 35 years, the airline has demonstrated its ability to offer reliable and comprehensive travel options between the two countries with more than 240,000 flights.
Expansion of flight offerings
United currently operates up to 17 daily flights from Frankfurt, Munich, and Berlin, totaling up to 4,740 seats. This frequency ensures travelers access to a network of over 300 destinations in North, Central, and South America by routing them through United’s hubs.
Diverse flight classes for different needs
On year-round flights from Germany, passengers can choose from a variety of cabin classes: United Polaris® Business Class, United Premium PlusSM, United Economy Plus®, and United Economy®. Each offers special amenities, from luxurious sleeping accommodations to essential comfort features like extended legroom.
Strategic partnership in Frankfurt
Fraport AG emphasizes the importance of United within Frankfurt‘s flight schedule. During the summer season, the airline offers approximately 70 weekly connections to six major US destinations, thus underpinning the long-standing partnership.
