Piston-engine aircraft from Diamond Aircraft Industries – the twin-engine DA62 and DA42-VI/DA42 NG, and the single-engine DA40 NG – are being equipped with the new generation of the Garmin G1000 NXi.
The Garmin NXi utilizes the same user interface as the G1000, but with a multitude of enhancements that further simplify pilot workload and improve the flight experience.
“We are thrilled to be introducing the new Garmin G1000 NXi in our state-of-the-art piston aircraft. In 2001, we were the first OEM to select the then-still-secret, fully integrated G1000 as a key integral element for the DA42 TWINSTAR, and we are delighted to once again be able to offer our customers the very latest in avionics,” says Christian Dries, CEO and owner of Diamond Aircraft Austria.
Features of the Garmin G1000 NXi
- Modernized Graphics
- More powerful processors for faster and stutter-free rendering
- New LED Backlight
- New Digital Moving Maps for IFR and VFR Flight
Upgrades for the DA62, DA42 NG/DA42-VI, and DA40 NG are expected to be available. Further information regarding this will be announced at a later date.
