Frankfurt Airport reports increasing passenger volume

Frankfurt Airport reported 5.3 million travelers in April, an increase of 4.8 percent. This increase was partly due to the Easter holiday season, which encouraged many people to travel. Popular destinations were warm-water regions such as Italy, Spain, and Turkey. At the same time, cargo volumes declined slightly by 1.1 percent to 169,563 tons. The number of aircraft movements, with 39,168 takeoffs and landings, increased by 4.3 percent, while maximum takeoff weights reached 2.4 million tons, representing an increase of 3.2 percent compared to the previous year.

Fraport: Growth at international airport holdings

Increases were recorded not only in Frankfurt, but also at the Fraport Group’s international airports. Passenger traffic rose by 12.7 percent in Ljubljana, while the Brazilian airports in Fortaleza and Porto Alegre achieved an increase of 7.2 percent with 1.0 million travelers. Lima Airport in Peru reported growth of 8.4 percent with approximately 2.0 million passengers.
