Munich Airport will record a remarkable increase in passenger and freight traffic to Asia in 2024. With 2.6 million passengers and an increase of 38.7 percent, new flight connections are contributing to the successful development. A discount campaign until March 2025 accompanies the upcoming Lunar New Year.

Successful passenger numbers and most popular destinations

Munich will record impressive in long-haul traffic to in 2024. A total of 2.6 million passengers traveled from Munich to eleven Asian countries, an increase of 38.7 percent compared to the previous year. in particular was highlighted as the most popular destination, followed by and Beijing. This positive development is attributed to a mix of existing connections and new routes.

New and established flight connections

Additional connections through renowned airlines such as EVA Air and Airlines contribute significantly to growth. EVA Air has been successfully offering four weekly to for two years, while has been launching to and Ho Chi Minh City since October. From June 2025, will increase the number of Far Eastern airlines to Munich Airport to ten.

Increase in cargo sector
