Hunnu Air begins scheduled flights with Embraer’s E195-E2 in Mongolia. The inaugural flight from Ulaanbaatar to Beijing marks not only the premiere of this route but also the first time an E2 aircraft has been used on a scheduled service to mainland China, strengthening international relations between the two countries.
Inauguration ceremony strengthens relationships
Hunnu Air, Embraer, and Beijing Daxing Airport are jointly hosting a ceremony to celebrate the successful launch of the new flight route. This move is expected to strengthen the connection between the aviation hubs of Mongolia and China and deepen economic and cultural ties between the two countries. The route will be served by the first of two new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft that Hunnu Air took delivery of in April.
Expansion of international networks
With the new E195-E2, Hunnu Air plans to increase capacity to destinations such as Haikou, Sanya, and Phu Quoc, as well as expand services to Japan, China, Vietnam, India, and South Korea. Scheduled flights to Tashkent are also planned. The E195-E2 features a comfortable 136-seat two-class configuration, with a focus on eliminating the unpopular middle seat to maximize passenger comfort.
Important partnership with Embraer
According to Martyn Holmes, Chief Commercial Officer of Embraer Commercial Aviation, the deployment of the E195-E2 on this important route demonstrates the depth of the partnership with Hunnu Air. They share a shared responsibility to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable operations. The viable E195-E2 will enable Hunnu Air to grow profitably and fully leverage Mongolia’s enormous potential to strengthen a growing Asian network.
Embraer’s contribution to Mongolian aviation
Embraer has been committed to the Mongolian aviation market for years and has built successful partnerships with Mongolian airlines. The first Embraer aircraft, an ERJ 145, entered Mongolian service in 2018. Embraer’s E-Jets program is one of the most successful in the aviation industry, with more than 1,800 units delivered worldwide.
Hunnu Air operates as Mongolia’s leading airline, strengthening its international presence through strategic alliances. The company promotes not only aviation, but also the economy and cultural exchange of the region. By introducing modern aircraft such as the Embraer E195-E2, Hunnu Air continually builds on advanced technology and excellent service offerings.
